Transportation Ticket Issues Affect Thousands of Schoolchildren

Approximately 10,000 schoolchildren in Stockholm have received incorrect SL travel tickets this week. The issue emerged just as the school year commenced, causing inconvenience for both students and parents.

The problem seems to be linked to a technical error where the system generated tickets valid for adults instead of children. This raised concerns among parents who discovered that their children could potentially face fines or be denied transport access.

SL, the company responsible for public transport in Stockholm, acknowledged the error and assured affected families that they are working on a swift resolution. They have recommended using the incorrect tickets temporarily while the situation is resolved. SL representatives have also confirmed that ticket inspectors have been informed to avoid penalizing children carrying these wrongly issued tickets.

Authorities have urged patience and promised updates as they rectify the technical glitch. Meanwhile, schools and parents are attempting to cope with the disruption during this critical start to the academic year.
