Two apartment fires erupted in Stockholm on Thursday, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The first fire broke out in an apartment in the Södermalm district around 10 a.m. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to control the flames within an hour. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Later in the afternoon, another fire was reported in the Vasastan area. Fire crews responded rapidly and were able to contain the fire to a single apartment. The residents of the building were evacuated as a precaution, but once again, no injuries were reported. Authorities are looking into potential causes, including electrical faults.
According to the Stockholm Fire Department spokesperson, the quick response of the fire crews prevented both incidents from escalating. “We commend our team for their rapid and effective actions today,” the spokesperson added.
Residents are advised to check their smoke alarms and ensure that emergency numbers are easily accessible.
