The municipality of Haninge is now targeting several housing associations with fines due to inadequate snow removal during the past winter. According to the local authorities, the failure to remove snow properly from sidewalks and roads posed safety risks to both pedestrians and motorists.
Last winter, several complaints were filed regarding the slippery conditions, and the municipality conducted inspections to ensure compliance with snow removal regulations. As a result, fines have been levied against those responsible for maintaining safe passage on public pathways.
The authorities emphasized that property owners have a responsibility to clear snow and ice promptly to prevent accidents and ensure accessibility for all.
