Salem Municipality has decided to install surveillance cameras at Rönninge’s commuter train station to increase security. Over the years, there have been several incidents of vandalism and theft at the location which prompted the need for increased surveillance measures. The installation of the cameras is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Municipal Commissioner Anna Andersson mentions that these measures are part of a larger effort to ensure the safety and security of the residents. “The welfare of our community is a top priority, and with these cameras, we aim to deter criminal activities and provide a safer environment for everyone,” she said.
Some residents welcome the initiative, believing it will reduce crimes and make people feel safer. However, others have raised concerns over privacy and the effectiveness of such measures.
