Mälarömilen, the much-loved running race in Ekerö, is making a comeback this September 13. After being on hold for several years, organizers have announced that the event will once again take participants through the scenic routes of Ekerö, offering various distances suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
The event aims to bring the community together and promote healthy lifestyles. “We are thrilled to bring back Mälarömilen,” says event coordinator Anna Lind. “It’s not just a race; it’s a celebration of our wonderful community and its beautiful nature.”
Runners can choose between different race categories, including a 5k, 10k, and a special children’s race. The route will lead participants along the picturesque lake Mälaren and through lush green landscapes.
Preparations for the race have been underway for months, with safety measures being a top priority to ensure a safe environment for all participants. “We are following all recommended guidelines to make sure the event is safe,” adds Lind.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate, whether as runners, volunteers, or spectators cheering from the sidelines.
“It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day outdoors,” concludes the event coordinator.
