A male judge serving at a Stockholm district court has been formally charged with aggravated violation of a woman’s integrity — known in Swedish law as grov kvinnofridskränkning — as well as seven counts of offences against the peace of minors (barnfridsbrott).
According to available information, the charges include incidents in which the accused allegedly applied stranglehold techniques and made threats against his partner, all in the presence of the children involved in the case.
The fact that the defendant is a serving judge adds a particularly serious dimension to the case, given that his professional role consists precisely of upholding the law and ensuring the protection of citizens from this type of conduct.
Swedish authorities have initiated the corresponding judicial process, and the case is drawing significant attention both because of the accused’s position and the repeated nature of the alleged offences.
