Stockholm’s red metro line is showing no signs of stability. Following more than a week of continuous and large-scale disruptions, a new problem was detected on Wednesday, this time located in the rails near Östermalmstorg station.
According to SL press spokesperson Karolina Wichman, the fault was first identified at midday but resurfaced several hours later, in the early afternoon. “The fault appeared during midday and reappeared later in the afternoon,” Wichman explained, adding that the issues have since been resolved and that the service is operating normally.
This latest incident comes amid growing concern among commuters and transport authorities, as the accumulation of failures in such a short period calls into question the reliability of one of the Swedish capital’s most heavily used lines.
