The municipality of Vallentuna, located north of Stockholm, has decided to terminate its contract with its external services provider after recurring problems were recorded in key areas such as snow removal and municipal park maintenance. The deficiencies, which occurred on multiple occasions, led local authorities to conclude that the contractual relationship could not continue.
This measure reflects the growing pressure on Swedish municipalities to ensure the quality of public services that directly affect residents’ daily lives, especially during the harsh winter months, when poor snow management can pose a real safety risk. Vallentuna will now need to find a new provider capable of meeting the required standards.
