A boat moored in the municipality of Täby, north of Stockholm, was the scene of an explosion on Wednesday when the vessel’s engine suddenly blew up. One person ended up in the water as a result of the incident but escaped without serious injuries.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to handle the situation. According to Jesper Hesselgren, duty officer for the fire department, the person involved was immediately attended to by medical personnel and their condition was stable.
— The person is being assessed by the medical teams and is in good condition, Hesselgren stated.
The exact causes behind the engine explosion are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities. So far, no other injuries or significant material damage beyond that sustained by the vessel itself have been reported.
